Mumbai launches India’s first underwater tunnel museum

Mumbai’s Coastal Road Project will now include India’s first underwater tunnel museum, a public initiative to educate visitors about marine biodiversity and sustainable engineering. Located inside one of the twin tunnels connecting Marine Drive and Worli, the museum will feature interactive exhibits on marine life, construction techniques, and water conservation. The initiative is in collaboration with National Geographic and the BMC. Visitors will pass through a glass corridor surrounded by filtered sea views and holographic marine projections. It is expected to open by December 2026 and aims to become a top tourist attraction in the city.
